Whether you are a U.S. citizen petitioning for your family member while currently residing in the U.S. or visiting in Senegal. IDTO can help assist you with your family by getting started with Senegal’s Immigration DNA Testing process.
The first step in the process is to make sure you received a Request For Evidence letter from USCIS or from the U.S. Embassy/Consulate in in Dakar. Without the Request For Evidence letter, it will be difficult to initiate a DNA sample collection for the beneficiary in Senegal. In addition, USCIS may not accept your result because the chain of custody process did not follow the immigration DNA Testing guidelines. To avoid any setbacks and to provide your family with the highest frequency of having immigration accept your genetic testing result evidence. It is important you receive a Request For Evidence (RFE) letter USCIS or Embassy.
The second step, Once you have received your RFE letter. Please contact a DNA Testing facility that provides immigration DNA Testing services that partners with an AABB Accredited DNA Parentage Laboratory like IDTO.
The third step, we will help you with the coordination of your genetic sample collection appointment if the petitioner resides in the United States. Our partner AABB Accredited DNA Parentage Laboratory will be responsible for shipping the beneficiaries’ DNA test kit to the U.S. Embassy in Monrovia. Please note, the Embassy is responsible for coordinating the beneficiaries’ DNA sample collection appointment in Liberia, not the lab.
It important to note, All DNA Tests are performed are under strict supervision with a partner AABB Accredited DNA Parentage Laboratory to perform legal chain of custody testing.
Step four, Once all DNA samples have been collected they will be shipped back to the lab for analyzing and processing. Upon completion, a copy of your result will be sent to USCIS by the laboratory on your family’s behalf. A copy of your result will also be mailed out to your home for your records.
The average turnaround time to complete this process is 6 to 8 weeks sometimes longer depending on what’s going on in Senegal.
