How The Process Works:
- Getting started is simple, upon receipt of your Request for Evidence letter from USCIS or the U.S. Embassy. Call IDTO at 877-680-5800 to schedule an appointment.
- After the petitioner’s appointment is scheduled and DNA samples have been collected in the U.S. The lab will ship a DNA kit to the U.S Embassy in Algiers.
- Once the US Consular officer has received the beneficiary’s DNA kit. The consular officer will contact the beneficiary to schedule your appointment by email.
- After the beneficiary’s samples have been collected . The genetic samples will shipped back to the laboratory in the United States.
- Upon receipt of your DNA samples by the lab the will begin the testing process
Once testing is complete. A copy of your results will be sent to the requesting USCIS office and another copy will be mailed to your home.

Buccal cheek swabs is the used method of specimen collection at the time of your DNA specimen collection appointment.
The cheek swabs are placed inside your mouth and brush against the left and cheeks for 30 seconds. Blood sample collections are a viable secondary specimen collection method.
How long does DNA results for Immigration purposes?
DNA results are completed within 2 to 3 days from the date all DNA specimens arrive at the lab.
Accuracy for DNA results is 99.99% for legal inclusions (proves a biological relationship). The results upon completion will be shipped to the requesting U.S. embassy or USCIS office on your family’s behalf.
