How do I get a court admissible paternity test in NJ?

All legal DNA testing services we provide are recognized by Family Court Judges for the purposes of child support, birth certificate name changes just to name a few. Genetic samples are processed and analyzed by our partner AABB Accredited Laboratory to properly establish a legal chain of custody.
What’s the difference between a legal DNA test and non-legal DNA test?
Legal DNA testing results can be used for any legal reason such as birth certificate name change, Social Security, Immigration, Child Support or Child Custody cases etc. When performing a legal test a chain of custody has to be established, and all DNA samples must be collected by an unbiased third-party DNA sample collector.
A non-legal DNA test does not require a chain of custody to be established. Therefore, the results of this testing option can be used for any legal purpose. Does the custodial parent have to be present for paternity testing?
Yes. If you are performing a legal paternity test and the child is under the age of 18. The legal guardian must be present at the time of the child’s DNA sample collection appointment to give consent.
Normally, if an alleged father is a custodial parent he does not have to seek permission from to perform a legal paternity test.
If the mother is the custodial parent then the alleged father must get permission from the mother or legal guardian to perform a DNA paternity test.
