How to use a paternity test kit?

Using a home DNA Paternity testing kit purchased through IDTO is easy. In this video, I will explain how this simple process works.

-Contact IDTO DNA Paternity Testing Center to order your DNA test kit by phone or, through a secured link that will be emailed to you online.

-Upon receiving your home Genetic test kit make sure that you read the sample collection instructions located inside your DNA test kit.

-After reviewing the sample collection instructions. Please complete the enclosed sample collection form. The form will require you to fill out the names, date of birth, race, and signature of each adult involved. For minor children under the age of 18 years of age. The adult will have to sign on the child’s behalf.

-Next, After completing the DNA sample collection form. Please locate and complete the DNA sample collection envelope for each person that is enclosed with your kit. Each envelope will contain 2 cotton swab packets. Each packet has two swabs located inside of each envelope. Make a total of 4 cotton swabs that will be used on one person per envelope used for your Paternity test. Note: To minimize any errors. We recommend that each person if they are an adult complete their own information to eliminate any name mis-spelling errors. Also, each DNA sample collection will require that you initial the back of the DNA sample envelope.

-When collecting your sample make sure you use the disposable gloves enclosed with your Paternity test kit. Next, Please use one cotton swab at a time. Place the cotton swab inside of your mouth where your cheek is and swipe up and down firmly while rotating the swab for a minimum of 30 seconds. Repeat this process twice for the left cheek and twice for the right cheek. Make sure you place each swab into the correct envelope. Then seal the envelope. After all the samples have been collected place each party’s samples into their respective DNA sample collection envelope and place the envelope into your return prepaid shipping envelope going back to the lab.

-The turnaround time for your result is 2-3 business days from the date on which the lab receives all of your genetic samples. Upon completion of your result. One of I.D.T.O’s  Relationship Testing  Caseworkers will contact you directly. A physical copy of your result will be mailed to you and a copy of your result will also be sent to you via email.
